Connecting People Through Live Music

The intentional act of the creation of music as a healing tool is not a new idea but the use of it in healthcare events is trend that is gaining support and momentum because it works!  My studies with "The Music for Healing and Transition Program" (MHTP) have taught me how to use the language of music (melody, harmony, tempo, phrasing, etc.) to create an aural environment that promotes the balance and harmony of the body, mind and spirit.  And it gives the space for patients to reconnect with themselves and their loved ones.

THE SOUNDTRACK OF YOUR LIFE

Purchase Original Music for the Body, Mind and Spirit

Music is so personal.  The energy coming off of a song has the power to alter you on a physical, mental and spiritual level.  I write music intentionally designed to connect to your body's energy, in a way that provides resolution within the body, mind and spirit, and to provide peaceful, neutral places to process your feelings.  Here at "Keys of Life" I have created original music to help you find your way during emotionally and physically difficult times.

Music Lives

in our Hearts and Minds

The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America has an entire web page dedicated to music therapy in Alzheimer’s patients. They say that, “When used appropriately, music can shift mood, manage stress-induced agitation, stimulate positive interactions, facilitate cognitive function and coordinate motor movements.” This is because music requires little to no mental processing, so... music does not require the cognitive function that is not present in most dementia patients. Musical aptitude and appreciation are two of the last remaining abilities in dementia patients.

Music can shift mood, manage stress and stimulate positive interactions.

ALL ABOUT LIVE THERAPEUTIC MUSIC

Learn About My Methods

Therapeutic music is offered by Certified Music Practitioners, or  CMPs, and other trained therapeutic musicians by holding an awareness that brings beauty, presence, and the power of music into a healthcare environment that may facilitate healing.  Therapeutic musicians focus on meeting a patient’s present needs with therapeutic music in-the-moment, rather than having the intention of accomplishing a specific goal or outcome. Therapeutic musicians use the intrinsic healing elements of live music and intentionality to create an environment conducive to healing.

I am a keyboardist, traveling with a battery powered keyboard with a beautiful piano sound that sits in a custom built stand with wheels for easy mobility. I can play the piano for your virtually anywhere. Have keyboard, will travel!

TESTIMONIALS

Here are a few things patients have said about their experience with personalized, live therapeutic music

Terri Fevang / Certified Music Practitioner / Therapeutic Musician

It took me to a different, better place.

Listening to your music was like finding an unexpected treasure; I didn't now you we're there but I'm glad I found you.

The music was a sacred time where I could feel my feelings without worrying about anyone else.

You changed my hospital experience for the better.

How amazing to have your service available in a hospital!

I knew it would help my mother but I didn't expect it to help me, too.   But it really did.

After having experienced the music  live, as soon as you would walk into a room I would feel better.

I didn't  expect it to ease my pain but it really did.

Your music has done in  20 minutes what hasn't been done in the 13 days we've been in the hospital, you eased my baby's breath.

I feel like I can sleep now.
